Field Marshal Harold Alexander at the British Cemetery in Sevastopol

The British War Cemetery was set up three kilometers from Sevastopol with British funds in 1882. British generals who had fought in the Crimean War of 1853–1856 were buried in the cemetery. Many tombstones were carved by Russian sculptor B. Edwards.
